About The Brian Kennedy Foundation & Scholarship Program

In his memory, friends and family organized the Brian Kennedy Foundation to reward high school students for excellence in academics and athletics.

"Because Brian was a scholar, an athlete, and a leader," says Jared Palmer, the Foundation's president, "it makes sense to focus on scholarships for similarly well-rounded young people."

The first Brian Kennedy Foundation scholarship recipient was Kim Kiraly, a girl from Brian's alma mater. Kim was an honors student, a varsity swimmer, and an active member of her church. She's attended Iowa State University.

"That's the kind of person who's going to make a difference in the world," says Melissa Derbyshire, Brian's mother and a member of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

"She is the kind of person we want to help achieve the full potential that Brian couldn't because his life was cut short."

In the future, the Foundation hopes to expand its programs with the help of generous people like you. When you donate, two things are certain: you will help some very deserving people who will, in turn, improve communities just like the one where you live, and you will keep alive the memory of a true American hero.

100% of your donation goes to the scholarship fund.
